2021 USODA Atlantic Coast Championship Results

Tom’s River, NJ — 31 October 2021      64 Optimist sailors competed in a two-day regatta over the Halloween weekend for the USODA Atlantic Coast Championship. Mother nature certainly brought some spooky weather…. flood-stage tides plagued much of the Mid-Atlantic, and in fact altered the schedule of this event, with the TRYC lot partially submerged at times. Everyone seemed to work around the water, however, and the race committee dealt out 8 races over the two days in mostly moderate winds.
Thanks to some great sailing, and a throw-out race, Annapolis sailor (and S1D Team member) Ashton Perkins sailed a great series, with all his “keeper” races inside the top 10, to win overall.
