 Sail Sand Point’s youth racing program (aka Sand Point Youth Sailing [SPYS]) caters to youth interested in the exciting world of dinghy racing whether they are 8 years old racing Optis or 18 years old racing on the High School team. This program puts an emphasis on teamwork and improving sailing skills, but most importantly on having fun and practicing good sportsmanship on and off the water. Community and learning take priority over competition. Sail Sand Point has three distinct youth racing groups: Sand Point Opti Team (SPOT), SPYS Summer Team (Lasers, FJs, C420s for ages 13-18), and High School Sailing (spring and fall for ages 13-18).
