If you are thinking about sailing in college, be sure to check out this information session hosted by the SouthAtlantic conference of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SAISA). SAISA is home to schools in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama. This conference boasts over 30 active college sailing teams, beautiful year-round sailing conditions, and some top sailing venues. Pictured below are scenes from an Eckerd College regatta, a SAISA school located in St. Petersburg, Florida. For more information about SAISA, visit their website here.
The Zoom will take place on Tuesday, July 30th from 6:30-8:00 PM. Schools across the conference will each briefly present about their programs, followed by an overview of college sailing itself and recruiting rules and guidelines. There will also be a Q&A for any remaining questions. For students beginning their admissions process, this is an invaluable opportunity to learn what makes each team unique. “We think sailing in SAISA as your home conference is such a special experience,” said SAISA commissioner Dana Magliola. “It’s a great mix of high-level competition with great hospitality and a supportive conference culture that helps student-athletes develop to their full potential.”
Along with collaboration between Sail1Design and SAISA, this event is supported by One United Sailing.
