I grew up in the Comet class on Cooper River NJ . I am now in CA. Good Luck rebuilding the class
Thanks for opening your playbook for us.
Zach, your insights come from your own recent experiences, and you have conveyed them honestly to us, your readers. I wish you a world of success in your many endeavors
awesome post
Nice post guys, really nicely laid out with good graphics. If you can execute your plan I’ll be happy to see you out on circuit and in Miami!
Comet racing/sailing
As a kid, I had a Comet 3778 red sails, Highland Lakes, N.J. Now 63 yoa retired in Florida, I would like to once again enjoy sailing a Comet. I suggest making a crew optional for us heavy set guys. It was always hard to find a crew for Sunday morning races. Good luck!
used 420 charters

Response From LaserPerformance
LaserPerformance would like to take this opportunity to add to Mitch Brindley’s response to Franny’s unfortunate and misleading letter. A better analogy would be the size, … Read More
My dream
I’m sixteen and sailing every week. Just wanted to say you’re living my life dream. Thanks for the encouragement. It’s nice to know it’s actually possible.
Editors Note
EDITORS NOTE A recent article appeared in Airwaves referencing the “New Collegiate 420.” We received some feedback that this boat is not the “official” college-sanctioned boat, and we would like to apologize for any misunderstanding, and if the title of the article was misleading, our most sincere apologies. Since LaserPerformance is a long-time Sail1Design sponsor, … Read More
Collegiate Dinghies
Another option is the new Rondar Collegiate 420 which Rondar Raceboats North America is building at their Peabody USA factory. Its being tested at two major college programs. Rondar built the new Fireflies for MIT and they are very nice.
