Set on the historic waters of the Chesapeake Bay, this stop brings vibrant competition, strong fleets, and classic Annapolis sailing energy. This event will feature:

Kick off the 2026 Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida!
This regatta brings together top one-design fleets for competitive racing on Tampa Bay, plus plenty of fun off the water. The event will also include:

The 2025 MSI opens Friday with charters, a clinic, and practice races before registration. Racing takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with a regatta dinner Saturday night and awards on Sunday. Open to sailors under 31, the MSI welcomed thirty-six teams from eight countries in 2025. Spots are limited and charter applicants require acceptance. Coaching is provided for new and novice teams.
In conjunction with USODA, the St. Petersburg YC will be hosting the 2026 Valentines Regatta from February 7-8th. This event will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 Optimist Team Trials.
Sailors will be based out of the St. Petersburg Sailing Center on Demens Landing.

The J/70 North American Championship and Winter Series Event #1 will be held at Davis Island YC in Tampa, Florida in early December 2025.
The practice race will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd. Racing will begin on Wednesday, December 3rd and conclude on Saturday, December 6th.

Training schedule: SPRING:
Optimist race team training schedule: Monday / Wednesday / Friday from 4:00pm to 6:30 / Saturday from 10am to 2pm. 12hs of weekly training, will come out as more than 80hs of sailing prior to the summer, building a strong foundation that will allow the kids to improve much faster as if they were only sailing during summers.
Optimist green team training schedule: Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:30 / Some sailors could get invited to train on Saturdays with the RWB team.
